Nettle Creek Country Club Golf Course was designed by Raymond “Buz” Dieder, who has spent the last 40 years designing, redesigning, remodeling and constructing golf courses. His previous work includes Medinah Country Club, Cog Hill Country Club, Flossmore Country Club, Bob O’Link Country Club, Bob Vivant Country Club and many more championship courses.

Here at Nettle Creek Country Club, Mr. Dieder has taken advantage of the many facets and contours of the 309 acres of landscape and integrated the seven spring fed ponds into the golf course. Natural prairie land and wild flowers is the backdrop of this challenging course in the country.

Even though there are 169 home sites interwoven throughout the course, the feeling of open country space is always prevalent because of the lay of the land. The result of Dieder’s efforts is a unique course layout, which will intrigue and stimulate both amateur and professional golfers. Beautiful and relaxing, the 6,132 yard, Par 71 course make for very interesting play and handicaps for everyone to enjoy.

PARKS

Nettle Creek Country Club Estates is located only 22 miles from Starved Rock State Park which provides numerous facilities for camping, canoeing, hiking, bicycling, picnics and more in addition to water parks. Goose Lake Prairie State park is only 10 miles east and offers a huge wooded recreational area adjacent to Heidecke Lake as part of a major fish and wildlife area.

RIVERS

The Illinois River is only one mile south of the Nettle Creek Country Club Estates community. A public boat landing is available at Stratton Park, just minutes from Downtown Morris. Just a few miles west of Seneca are two marinas harboring a wide variety of boats.

Extending for miles East and West is the Illinois and Michigan Canal State Trail. This multi-purpose trail was developed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and is currently 61 miles long.
